Looking for healthy food, nutrition education or breastfeeding tips and support in Amarillo? Applying for WIC is easy! You can begin your application online or call the WIC office in Amarillo near you to schedule an appointment. WIC is available to many families, and if you or your children receive Medicaid, SNAP or TANF, you automatically meet the income eligibility guidelines for WIC. Even if you don't receive these programs, you may still qualify by meeting the income guidelines for your household. Don't hesitate to apply and get the benefits that WIC offers!

If this is your first appointment at North Branch Library WIC Clinic, 1500 NE 24th Ave, Amarillo, please visit TexasWIC.org to review what documentation is needed. During your appointment, WIC office staff will:

1. Review documentation and determine your WIC eligibility.
2. Weigh, measure, and check iron status for you (if pregnant) and your child.
3. Answer any questions you may have about health, nutrition or breastfeeding.
   At the end of your visit, you'll receive a Texas WIC card to use at the store with a food package specially designed to meet your needs.

Breastfeeding is a natural and beautiful way to provide the best nutrition for your baby, and it can be challenging at times. Your local WIC office at 1500 NE 24th Ave in Amarillo is here to help! They can connect you to various WIC resources to support your breastfeeding journey. WIC's lactation consultants, classes, peer counselors and 24/7 statewide hotline are available to help you breastfeed successfully. The breastfeeding classes cover topics such as:

• Feeding patterns.
• Baby's hunger cues and more.

Whether you like to learn on your own or chat with other moms and experts, WIC has options for you. We offer free online classes, and many WIC offices offer in-person group classes, too. Our classes cover many topics, from healthy eating through pregnancy, breastfeeding tips, picky eating during the toddler years and more!

Our "click and learn" classes are available anytime, and our live classes give you the opportunity to interact with our nutrition and breastfeeding experts and connect with other parents in your community. And because we know everyone's schedule is different, we offer classes at various times throughout the week.
