Open Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM for lunch. Open Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Open Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Open the 4th Saturday of the month from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Office is closed the Friday before the 4th Saturday.

WIC is open to many families in Galveston, and if you receive Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, you're already eligible for WIC. Even if you don't receive these programs, you may still qualify by meeting the income guidelines for your household. If you are attending your first appointment at Island Community Health Center-Wic, 4700 Broadway Ave J, Suite F 102, Galveston, visit TexasWIC.org to learn what documentation is needed. During your appointment, WIC office staff will:

1. Review documentation and determine your WIC eligibility.
2. Weigh, measure and check iron status for you (if pregnant) and your child.
3. Answer any questions you may have about health, nutrition or breastfeeding.
   At the end of your visit, you will get a food package specially designed to meet your family's nutritional needs and a Texas WIC card to use at the grocery store.

We offer free online classes to fit your busy schedule, and many WIC locations have classes in person, too. Online classes are free even if you are not a WIC client. Our classes cover many topics, from healthy snacks and picky eating to breastfeeding tips and more! Classes are designed to provide you with knowledge and support when feeding your little ones.

Whether you prefer to learn on your own or with the help of our nutrition and breastfeeding experts, we have options to fit your schedule and learning style. Our on-demand classes are available anytime, while our live classes provide you with the opportunity to ask questions and connect with other parents in your community. And because we know that everyone's schedule is different, we offer classes at various times throughout the week.
