1. Review documentation and determine your WIC eligibility.
2. Weigh, measure and check iron status for you (if pregnant) and your child.
3. Answer any questions you may have about health, nutrition or breastfeeding.
   At your visit, WIC staff will give you a Texas WIC card to use at the grocery store with a food package to meet your family's nutritional needs.

Breastfeeding can get hard and getting help is easy with WIC. If you're looking for breastfeeding support, your local WIC office at 217 N Nixon Ave in Nixon is here to help. They can connect you with WIC lactation consultants, breastfeeding classes, peer counselors and a 24/7 statewide hotline to support your breastfeeding journey every step of the way. WIC's classes cover a variety of topics, including:

• Different breastfeeding positions.
• How to get a good latch.
• Feeding patterns.
• Baby's hunger cues and more.

WIC has free online classes that you can take from the comfort of your home and many WIC locations have in-person group classes, too. Online classes are free, even if you are not a WIC client and cover everything from healthy eating through pregnancy, breastfeeding tips, picky eating and more!

We offer both on-demand and live classes to fit your needs. Our on-demand classes provide you with the flexibility to learn on your own time, while our live classes give you the opportunity to interact with our nutrition and breastfeeding experts and other parents in your community. And with classes available at various times throughout the week, you can choose a time that works for you.
