Open Monday from 7:45 AM to 7:30 PM. Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM. Open Friday from 7:45 AM to 12:45 PM. Open the 2nd Saturday of the month from 7:45 AM to 11:45 AM. Office is closed the 1st Friday of the month for staff development.

Children younger than 5, pregnant or breastfeeding mothers in San Antonio can benefit from the WIC program, which provides healthy food, nutrition classes and one-on-one counseling with nutritionists. If you're in San Antonio and looking for healthy food, nutrition support and breastfeeding tips or support, apply for WIC! Getting started is easy. You can begin your application online or call the WIC office nearest you to schedule an appointment.

WIC is open to many families in San Antonio, and if you receive Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, you're already eligible for WIC. Even if you don't receive these programs, you may still qualify by meeting the income guidelines for your household. If this is your first appointment at Grissom WIC Clinic, 9179 Grissom Rd, Ste 147, San Antonio, please visit TexasWIC.org to review what documentation is needed. During your appointment, WIC office staff will:

1. Review documentation and determine your WIC eligibility.
2. Weigh, measure, and check iron status for you (if pregnant) and your child.
3. Answer any questions you may have about health, nutrition or breastfeeding.
   At the end of your visit, you'll receive a Texas WIC card to use at the store with a food package specially designed to meet your needs.

Breastfeeding is a natural and beautiful way to provide the best nutrition for your baby, and it can be challenging at times. Your local WIC office at 9179 Grissom Rd, Ste 147 in San Antonio is here to help! They can connect you to various WIC resources to support your breastfeeding journey. WIC's lactation consultants, classes, peer counselors and 24/7 statewide hotline are available to help you breastfeed successfully. The breastfeeding classes cover topics such as:

• Different breastfeeding positions.
• How to get a good latch.
• Feeding patterns.
• Baby's hunger cues and more.
  For 24/7 breastfeeding help, call the Texas Lactation Support Hotline at 855-550-6667. This hotline is free and available to anyone in Texas.

At WIC, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the information you're looking for when it comes to health and nutrition for your little ones. That's why we offer free online classes, even if you are not a WIC client. Many WIC offices have in-person classes, too. Our classes cover various topics, including healthy eating, breastfeeding tips and more.

Our classes are designed to fit your busy schedule, with on-demand classes that can be taken whenever it's convenient for you, as well as live classes where you can connect with other parents in your community or ask questions for our nutrition and breastfeeding experts.
